NRG secure DreamHack Open Denver spot

NRG qualified for DreamHack Open Denver, beating the likes of Denial and Renegades to get to the grand final and then taking down Tempo Storm 2-0 (16-5 Overpass, 16-11 Cobblestone) for a spot at the event.
The North American closed qualifier for DreamHack Open Denver featured teams such as Luminosity, Ghost, Rogue and Renegades. The latter two teams met in the quarter-final, with the Australian side managing a comfortable, double 16-7 win over Spencer "Hiko" Martin's team.
One of the bigger surprises of the qualifier was Ghost eliminating the currently #23 ranked Luminosity in three tight maps, in large thanks to a carry performance by Jason "neptune" Tran.
Ghost couldn't continue their run past the semi-final, where Tempo storm edged them out in three extremely narrow maps—two overtimes and a 16-14—, while the other semi saw Renegades go out to Damian "daps" Steele' NRG, with the last map being an overtime game as well.
The grand final started on Overpass and with first four rounds being traded back and forth. Tempo Storm were the ones to string a couple of them together first, going up 4-2 as Terrorists, but it was a clean sheet for NRG's defense after that and they ended the half 11-4 up. With Tsvetelin "CeRq" Dimitrov contributing 19 AWP kills and finishing 24-13, there was no contest on the first map which NRG closed out 16-5.
Tempo Storm struggled to get a good start on Cobblestone as well, and were playing catch-up for the whole CT half. Lucas "destiny" Bullo helped his team get back into the groove in the second half, finishing with a total of eight first kills on the map, but a crucial loss to NRG's saved AWP and pistols as the score was 12-11 swung the game the North Americans' way, allowing them to close it out 16-11.
With 2-0 victory, NRG have secured a spot at DreamHack Open Denver, and are now the only known team for the event alongside HellRaisers.
